Congenital blepharoptosis, or droopy eyelids present at birth, can now be safely corrected with frontalis sling surgery. During this procedure, an incision is made in the drooping eyelid, and the muscles of the forehead and/or brow are incorporated into the elevation of the lid, ultimately lifting it to the same height as the other lid. Once in the correct location, the incision is stitched closed.
